Synopsis :This is a recording of a PKMS rally that features guest speaker Mr Seow Khee Leng from Singapore United Front. It begins with a brief speech by candidate for Bedok Mr Abdul Rahman Zain on the importance of youth involvement in affairs of politics and the biasness of media during election campaigns.
Following that, Mr Seow Khee Leng addresses the audience while speaking in Malay, English, and mostly in Hokkien. He speaks about a suppression of ethnic languages by the PAP, the importance of connecting to the multi-racial demographic of Singapore. He also echoes the previous point about media bias during elections campaigns.
The PKMS candidate for Kampong Ubi, Mr Syed is then introduced. In Malay, he claims that PAP uses a threatening style in their campaign, and that their insinuations of PKMS as a racist and exclusive to one ethnic group party is unfounded. PKMS is instead a communal party, and he expresses his gratitude towards citizens and the media. He assures the audience that PKMS can build amicable relations with neighbouring countries. He promises to support beneficial policies, and ensure that the government will be taken to account for policies that are destructive. PKMS hopes to establish a union in collaboration with other opposition parties that is comparable to the existing NTUC. Other plans include calling for government subsidies for utilities, allowing youth involvement in politics, and calling out racial discrimination in military.
The Secretary-General of PKMS, Mr Ibrahim Ariff, then assures the audience that their votes are secret, and emphasised PKMS' support for racial diversity and harmony. He stresses that the people of Singapore should support democracy, therefore a one-party rule should not be allowed to continue.
