Empire Youth Sunday - Inauguration
[238 Pages] The file relates to the inauguration and celebration of the Empire Youth Sunday in Singapore from 1950-1958 with programmes prepared by the Singapore Youth Council (SYC). From 1957, the name was changed to the Commonwealth Youth Sunday celebrated in 60 commonwealth countries. Publicity material and messages in connection with the annual event received from the Empire Youth Sunday Committee in London was circulated by the Colonial Secretary's office every year. Reports and programmes as well as the observance in other countries to celebrate the event are also in the file.
