File NL 394/62 Vol 1 (Libraries - Malaysia - Ipoh Public Library) covering the period May 65 – Jun 75, documents National Library’s (NL) assistance to Ipoh Library (IL), training its staff and volunteers at NL and helping IL to expand its services.
- Apart from training of Ipoh Library’s (IL) staff and volunteers, at NL, the Director IL also spent two weeks at NL to observe, and study practices in NL.  D/NL continued to maintain close ties with the IL Librarian, Syed Salim Agha, even after Director, IL Karl Reeh returned to the United States.
- NL’s assistance to IL included training of IL staff at NL, supplying relevant book lists as requested, catalogue of Chinese books, NL’s book reviews and giving sound advice on IL’s proposed activities – eg starting a reference service, storytelling programme.  In addition, D/NL made several visits to the IL and served as Agha's supervisor in his application to the Library Association (UK).
