Mr Lee Gek Seng was a pioneering unionist and a founding member of the PAP. He shares his observation on the tactics of the Communist United Front in the Hock Lee bus riots.
Lee Khoon Choy was a journalist at the time of the Hock Lee bus riots. He subsequently became a member of Singapore's Legislative Assembly, Senior Minister of State and diplomat. During the Hock Lee bus riots, he was a journalist on site and witnessed much violence including the gruesome burning of a police officer.
Mr Neill was with the Labour Department as the Assistant Commissioner of Labour during the Hock Lee bus riots. He comments on the challenges in settling in labour disputes in the 1950s without the mandatory conditions of current Industrial Relations Legislation, the Industrial Arbitration Court and procedures relating to the settlement of disputes.
