This is an audio recording of a speech delivered by the Communications Minister Yong Nyuk Lin at the Laying Of Foundation Stone of the Earth Satellite Station on Sentosa Island. Minister Yong stressed that although Singapore was the 23rd member of the Commonwealth, it was ranked No: 5 in terms of international telegraphic traffic, behind Britain, Canada, Australia and India, and No: 6 in terms of international telephone and telex traffic.
