Military Dept, Cons. 6 Feb 1839 No. 1 - Letter from the Government of India to the Governor of Prince of Wales Island, Singapore and Malacca on the proposed Light House on Barn Island. It is resolved that 'before orders for construction of the Light House or for obtaining a proper Lantern for it, it will be ascertained from the Legislative Department whether it is intended to establish port dues to meet the outlay required and when the Law to that effect is likely to be proposed.'
