Foreign Secret Cons 5 Mar 1824 No. 7 - Letter from J Crawfurd, Resident of Singapore to George Swinton, Secretary to the Government transmitting: 1) a joint letter from the native chiefs regarding the hoisting and the striking down of the British flag at Johor and the question of slavery with reference to the native Malay chiefs; and 2) a second letter from the Toommongoong regarding a general and indefinite engagement to assist him in removing and establishing himself at his present residence.
