2365: Lim Keng Yaik quits as Minister

American Embassy Kuala Lumpur reported to US Secretary of State the resignation of Lim Keng Yaik as Minister with special functions for New Villages citing intractable differences between him and MCA Chairman Tan Siew Sin. The future for Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) is bleak. Tun Razak feels party splits should be resolved internally and he does not want to interfere.
