To, John Anderson Esqre Secretary to Government Prince of Wales' Island Singapore & Malacca Sir, In accordance with the instructions conveyed in your letter of the 7th ultimo, relative to grants of Lands at Singapore, I have the honor to enclose for the information of the Honorable the Governor in Council, copy of a notification issued this day on the subject. 2. Mr Acting Resident Bonham, in his letter dated the 22nd December last, has explained the reason why a copy of the Advertisement alluded to in the 3rd Para: of your letter above was omitted, but the general meaning and intent of that document is well understood to have reference to the conditions stated by Mr Presgrave, clearing and building. 3. The Surveyor of Government Lands has been instructed not to issue any grants where the Lands
