Correspondence pertaining to recovery of Allied Prisoners of War and Internees (RAPWI). RAPWI Situation Reports (SITREP) provide statistics of RAPWI recovered in South East Asia Command (SEAC) and evacuated. Includes a directive regarding the disposal of Allied Prisoners of War and civilian internees recovered from the Japanese and evacuated to India. Correspondence from War Office to Supreme Allied Commander South East Asia (SACSEA) asking for lists of personnel missing at sea between Singapore and Borneo. The War Office also asked for an explanation regarding the arrival of 400 men in United Kingdom on the vessel "Momowai" but they were not reported as recovered. This omission caused additional work and embarrassment.
