Enquiry was held following the photograph, taken in 1951,  of a Marine holding the severed head of a bandit which was published in the U.K. newspaper 'The Daily Worker'. File contains correspondence relating to the enquiry into the circumstances of the taking of the photograph and questions as to whether it is practise for army patrols on request of the police, to bring in severed heads for identification. Other papers include the official report on the incident given to the U.K. Cabinet. It was recommended that he decapitation of corpses in Malaya should be expressly forbidden and only photographs for official purposes should be allowed..
