Sir,
I am directed to inform you that Mr George Caunter Police Magistrate - First Commissioner of the Court of Requests, and Acting Chaplain, having departed this life on the 25th December last - the Hon: the Governor in Council has been pleased to appoint Mr W Bennett, to succeed him in the last of the above-named situations upon the usual salary from the present date.
