The Resident
On the receipt of your letter of the 23rd instant No. 90 I felt the necessity of transmitting its contents to Raja Mooda and as soon as his answer is received you will be informed thereof.
Since that, a report has reached me which I think ought to be brought to your knowledge; in the first arrival of Raja Muda at the Carimons a prow called
Lanchang Goolang Goolang carrying cloth sales [sails] forward and aft, the center one of kalong and directing her course to the Carimons was hailed by the Fleet of Raja Muda and replied that she came from Mohue having Panglima Ahmet for Nakodah; after having signified his intention to obey the summons to come on board, Raja Muda's vessel took a direct course for Syed Akkiles station on the Karimons and which being considered suspicious, some shot were fired at her.
I have every possible reason to suppose that this prow is the same as that mentioned in your letter of the 22nd instt.
I have the honor to be with the most profound respect
