2.2 ff. 15r-24r - Letters in response to an article in the People newspaper on the war in Malaya against the Communists, 1951.                                                                                                          2.3 ff. 25r-33r - Letters etc relating to John Eber, a Singapore lawyer who was imprisoned for two years, 1951-1953 including a summary of his career.                                                        2.4 ff. 34r-35r - Press release from the Information Department, Malaya House, London.  Text of a statement of Tunku Abdul Rahman in Kuala Lumpur, 27 March 1958.  Report on the effectiveness of the war against the Communists.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              2.5 f. 36r - Text of a letter from Fenner Brockway and 34 other M.Ps addressed to the Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations (the Earl of Home) (26 Mar 1958).  Ask for a withdrawal of British Forces from Malaya now the Independence has been granted.                                                                                                                                                                                      f.37r - Reply of the Commonwealth Secretary, 31 March 1959, stresses that the troops are in Malaya at the request of the Prime Minister of Malaya.                                                        ff. 38r-38v - Text of a statement by Tunku Abdul Rahman, 3 April 1958, stresses that he has asked for the troops to remain.                                                                                                         f39r - Text of a letter to the Malaysian High Commissioner from James Griffiths, Deputy Leader of the Parliamentary Labour Party, 3 April 1958, stresses that the statement of Fenner Brockway and the others does not reflect the official views of the Labour Party.                                                                                                                                                                                  f.40r - Extract from the Manchester Guardian, 15 April 1958 'Operation Tiger' against the Communists in Malaya.                                                                                                                                  f.41r - Text of a letter from Fenner Brockway to the High Commissioner for Malaya, 2 April 1958 stresses that the Labour Party has no responsibility for the statement.                    f.42r - First Secretary of the Malayan High Commission to Lord Stansgate, no date.  Complains of the action of the Movement for Colonial Freedom - seems to be giving a platform to the representatives of the Malaya Communist terrorists.                                                                                                                                                                                                                          f.42r-78v - Encloses a copy of the Merdeka Book - produced by the Straits Times Press which gives the story of Malaya's road to independence.                                                                  f.80r - Fenner Brockway to Stansgate, 5 May 1958 has repudiated the allegations of the First Secretary - notes that their attitude on the withdrawal of troops is supported by some political parties in Malaya.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                2.6 ff.81r-86v - Copy of the Malayan Monitor, 30 April 1958.  Review of the correspondence in 225/5 and other news on Malaya from the socialist standpoint.                                     ff.87r-92v - Copy of the Malayan Monitor, 31 August 1959.  News about Malaya - election results, emphasis on the success of three Socialist Parties, includes items on Singapore.
