WO 361/1599: Far East: Singapore and Thailand; statement by Lt Col CT Hinds, Intelligence Corps (Malaya)

Short account of his attempts to escape and similar attempts by others. He was captured in Singapore on 15 Feb 1942 and a POW in Changi and then various camps in Thailand. Notes that whilst in Changi he contacted Toh Kee Kah, head of the Chinese community if Johore to ask if he could arrange to hide him if he escaped. However he heard that Toh was taken by the Kempei and murdered. Notes the shooting of men who tried to escape from Changi.
