Slavery. Mui Tsai - Far East
1949-1950
Explanation of the term 'Mui Tsai' - that the women and girls were never considered to be 'slaves', although this is open to dispute. Report by George Maxwell in 1950 discussing the system in various countries including Malaya, China and Singapore. Need for further legislation in the British colonies.
