A-009: Sabah: Donald Stephens embraces Islam

American Embassy Kuala Lumpur informed Department of State that Donald Stephens, Malaysian High Commissioner to Australia and his family converted to Islam on 5 Jan 1971 and he took the name of Mohammad Fuad Stephens. He was the former Chief Minister of Sabah and a prominent Kadazan Christian.
