ON A BRITISH CARDING MACHINE A FINE WEB OF WOOL PASSES THROUGH THE CONDENSER. THIS DIVIDES THE WOOL WEB INTO STRIPS, EACH HALF AN INCH WIDE, AND CONDENSES THESE INTO LOOSE "ROPES" READY FOR WINDING ON A BEAM, OR BOBBIN. (SHAW BROTHERS LTD., HUDDERSFIELD, YORKSHIRE, ENGLAND).
