Theemithi or fire walking ceremony held in honour of Goddess Draupadi at Sri Mariamman Temple in South Bridge Road. During the ceremony, Hindu devotees briskly crossed a bed of burning coals to fulfil their vows to the Goddess of goodness and purity, Draupadi Amman.
