SIR DAVID JAMES GALLOWAY
Sir David James Galloway arrived in Malaya on February 15, 1885 and was distinguished in public services. He was founder and president of Straits Medical Association, founder of British Medical Association (Malaya branch) and the Sultan of Johore's personal doctor. He taught in the Straits Settlements and Federated Malay States Government Medical School and was a member of the Legislative Council, Executive Council and Executive Council of Johore. He was also the first doctor in Malaya to be knighted in 1924.
