WATERFRONT TAKEN FROM KATONG PARK
Phase 1 of land reclamation which stretched from Bedok to Tanjong Rhu. The land reclamation project was undertaken by the Housing and Development Board (HDB) and the main contractor was Obayashi-Gumi. Filled materials were obtained from the hills off Siglap and Chai Chee and were transfered by a conveyor-bucket system to the disposal site.
