THE STOLEN BUS WHICH HAD CRASHED INTO THE CATHOLIC YOUNG MEN'S ASSOCIATION (CYMA) BUILDING WALL IN BRAS BASAH ROAD. IT WAS TRAVELLING FROM BENCOOLEN STREET INTO BRAS BASAH ROAD WHEN IT RAMMED INTO THE FRONT WALL, LEAVING A WIDE GAPING HOLE. THIS WAS THE LATEST THEFT WHICH OCCURRED AT THE TOA PAYOH DEPOT - THE SECOND ONE THERE IN THE LAST TWO MONTHS. IT WAS BELIEVED TO BE THE HANDIWORK OF A BALDING MAN IN A STRIPED SHIRT WHO WAS SEEN FLEEING FROM THE SCENE SOON AFTER THE CRASH. THE CARETAKER OF THE BUILDING AND HER FAMILY OF FOUR WERE UNHURT.
