400 WORKERS OF METAL BOX COMPANYS WOODLANDS' FACTORY WENT ON STRIKE FOLLOWING A DEADLOCK IN THEIR TWO-MONTHS OLD NEGOTIATIONS OVER PAY INCREASES AND FRINGE BENEFITS. THE STRIKE WAS CALLED BY THE METAL BOX WORKERS' UNION AT 8 AM AFTER A 48-HOUR ULTIMATUM SENT TO THE COMPANY EXPIRED ON 1 JANUARY.
