TANK ROAD STATION, SINGAPORE
Tank Road railway station, Singapore. This station opened on 1 May 1906, just south of Penang Lane. It replaced the first, 1903, station, which occupied the former Police Parade Ground on the corner of Tank Road and River Valley Road. The relocation was required to permit an embankment leading to the railway bridge being constructed over River Valley Road. This carried the extension to Pasir Panjang that opened on 21 Jan 1907. Tanjong Pagar station took over as the terminus for passenger trains in 1932.
