Nine milestone Bukit Timah Road (Upper Bukit Timah Road) where the KTM railway or Malayan Railway line crosses the truss bridge. Top right is Public Works Department (PWD) quarry (present site of Dairy Farm Nature Park). The serrated roof building on the left is National Carbon Ltd (later known as Union Carbide), maker of Eveready batteries. Beside it to the south is Malayan Gutta Ltd, manufacturer of Wrigley Chewing Gum. The massive factory at the bottom of the picture is Hume Industries with Singapore Quarry (formerly known as Chia Eng Say Quarry) in the bottom right corner.
