Page 3 and 4 of 8 of the Record of the 1819 Treaty of Friendship and Alliance, signed on 6 February 1819 by Sir Stamford Raffles and Singapore’s Malay rulers, Sultan Hussein of Johor and Temenggong Abdul Rahman. It granted the East India Company exclusive rights to open a trading post. This is a scan of the original scribal copy of the treaty made in 1841, preserved in the Straits Settlements Records collection of the National Archives of Singapore.
