MINISTER FOR THE ENVIRONMENT AND MINISTER-IN-CHARGE OF MUSLIM AFFAIRS DR AHMAD MATTAR ATTENDS OPENING CEREMONY OF FIFTH SOUTH EAST ASIA SYARIAH ASSOCIATION (SEASA) CONFERENCE AT MUIS (MUSLIM RELIGIOUS COUNCIL) ISLAMIC CENTRE IN BRADDELL ROAD
In the centre, behind the man greeting Dr Ahmad Mattar, is Professor Ahmad bin Mohamed Ibrahim. Professor Ahmad Ibrahim was a recipient of the Queen's Scholarship in 1936 and served as Singapore's first non-British Attorney-General. He was a key person in the merger talks with Malaya. He formulated the Administration of Muslim Law Act. He then served as Singapore's Ambassador to Egypt. After retirement, he joined the University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur as its first Dean of its law faculty.
