About Project
OHC’s collaboration with Nam Hwa Opera Ltd started from Dec 2017 and ended in July 2019 with a total of 74 interviews (except one interview still in progress), 45.5hours of recording. The content of the interviews is on the history of Nam Hwa Opera and/or Teochew Opera in Singapore. The interviews collected have been used in Nam Hwa's 55th Anniversary publication “Imprints in Time: The History of Teochew Opera in Singapore” and a four-part documentary “Evolving from Tradition, Unceasing Arias”.
