His Majesty King Bhumibol and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit flew in to Singapore for an hour stopover on their way to New Zealand on 18 Aug 1962. They were received by Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew and Mrs Lee and Mr. Yusof bin Ishak, President of Singapore, and his wife, Puan Noor Aishah.
