What is Oral History?
An oral history interview records the unique accounts of historical events and life experiences of an narrator that might otherwise have been lost with time or remained unknown. These interviews are preserved, documented and made available where permissible to the public. Oral histories are an important resource for a wide range of purposes: academic research, curation of exhibitions, the preservation of local, family and community history, and even television and scriptwriting.
