This hydrographic chart, the eastern portion from surveys by the officers of the East Indian Government, 1828 to 1863, the western portion by Commanders S B Haines and I P Sanders and others 1836 to 1849, with additions and corrections to 1937, shows soundings in fathoms, heights in feet above high water springs, mud, rocks, sand, shells, place names, towns, communication lines, hachures, bays, rivers, islands, the south-eastern coastline of Arabia, the eastern end of Africa, "Boundary between British and Italian Spheres of Influence" in Africa, part of western India, Bombay, Aden, Gulf of Aden, Gulf of Cambay, and others.
