This map, constructed mainly from surveys done under order from then the late Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles, shows Sumatra with highlands shading, Malay Peninsula (Malaya), part of western Java, islands, rivers, towns, place names, provinces, Acheen (Banda Aceh), Bencoolen, Batavia (Jakarta), Malacca, Pulo (Pulau) Pinang or Prince of Wales Island, Pulau Lancava (Langkawi), Banca (Bangka Island) and others. Also shown is an inset titled ''Sketch of the Island of Singapore''(Scale: 4 miles to 1 inch).
