This map accompanied letter dated 4 May 1895 A/64/17 from the G.O.C. to the Governor, Straits Settlements signed by John R M Chard. It shows existing land use and land ownershp such as Submarine Mining Establishment, Straits Trading Company Limited Tin Smelting Works, Colonial Marine Department Dock and the proposed set-up for land acquired for military use such as for barracks, quarters, Ordinance Store Establishment and resiting of burial grounds and others.
