Scope and Content:

1971 Master Plan: Map covers slight changes to landscape in areas from Macpherson Road, Aljunied Road and Paya Lebar Road to Geylang Road, Guillemard Road, Mountbatten Road, Constellation Avenue (Old Airport Road) and surroundings. It shows comprehensive development in an area east of Aljunied Road and north of Macpherson Road and conversion of government buildings at Changi Road to shopping centre with a cinema, dense settlement, pockets of general industry zone, shopping belts along Geylang Road and Joo Chiat Road, expansion of the dispensary to hospital at Constellation Road (Old Airport Road), places of worship, community buildings, schools, planning districts, Geylang River, major traffic routes, road junctions, roads, open spaces and others.
