ECONOMIC REPORT ON SINGAPORE BY MONETARY AUTHORITY OF SINGAPORE
This file contains MAS’ quarterly economic reports of the Singapore Economy and MAS' correspondences with HDB to circulate the reports. In particular, it covers: - The Singapore economy 1st, 2nd & 4th Quarter 1972; and - a Memo dated 18-09-1972 from HDB to MAS to clarify on the data of some construction industry activities (pg 95). - These quarterly reports were prepared by MAS' Economic Intelligence Dept. then for use within MAS. They were also circulated as "Confidential" documents* to government agencies "to provide a useful source of info on economic and financial developments in Singapore". [*Note: They were not available for public consumption till the 4th Quarter 1975 report when the first three sections of the reports on Overall Review, the External Economic Developments and the Calendar of Monetary and Economic Events were also published in the MAS Quarterly Bulletin (later known as MAS Monthly Statistical Bulletin or MSB from Nov 1980-Nov 2016).]
