Sale of Work-Children's Social Centres
The file contained information on the planning and implementation of the annual SALE of Works of Children’s Centres organised by the voluntary workers from 1952 to 1956. Items sold such as woodwork and basket work, toys, weaving and needle work, were done by children of the Centres, aged 4-13. Many enclosures dealt with arrangements for programme, logistics and transport, staff duties, invitation to the Guest of Honour and other guests, publicity, donations received etc.   The file documented the involvement of the Social Welfare Department, volunteers, community and businesses.   There were fewer enclosures dealing with the event held in 1952-1954.
