"The file contains mainly records relating to push-button telephone service including:
Minutes of Meetings
- minutes of meetings on push-button service standardisation held between December 1977 and August 1978;

Correspondence (External)
- a letter dated 30 November 1977 from Acoustic Services Pte Ltd enquiring whether TAS was keen to appoint a telecom consultant for the push-button phones project. If TAS was interested, the company would ask Nippon Telecommunications Consulting Co. Ltd to send a proposal to TAS;
- a letter dated 8 March 1978 from Singapore Electronic & Telecommunication Co. (Pte) Ltd attaching a short write up on Linesman Test Handset model MT911. TAS replied to the company requesting for a sample of the handset for evaluation;
- a press statement which was sent by the Public Relation Officer (Media) to The Straits Times on 25 April 1978 on standardisation of push-button telephones;
- a letter dated 18 July 1978 from the Director (Planning), Police Headquarters to an equipment vender, Bilson International Pte Ltd on the subject of burglar alarm with a carbon copy extended to TAS. The letter informed the vendor that permission was granted by the Police for the company to operate autodial burglar alarm on to the Police '999' system, on condition that the equipment had the type approval of the TAS. Other details and conditions for every new installation/ removal were also stipulated in the letter;

- a memo sent from Area Manager (City) to Manager (Telephone Sales) in January 1978 on the tariff for push-button telephone lines;
- a memo dated 27 January 1978 from Market & Tariff Planning replying to Divisional Manager (Service Promotion & Support) on tariff for push-button lines;
- a report dated 21 February 1978 on Jutland Telephone Company (JTAS)'s multi-frequency push button conversion programme with electronic telephone; and

Technical Data
- technical data for: i) Mitel dial Pulse-to-Touch Tone Converter Model CM8740; ii) Tel-tone TonePulse convertor Model 206-01; iii) Tel-tone M-161 dedicated tone-to-pulse converter; and iv) Tel-tone M-106 remote service access unit for PABX or key telephone system."
