Ministry of Culture was tasked with its design and related follow up action on its use eg on the Istana stationery and greeting cards. The Personal Standard of the Yang di-Pertuan Negara was a red flag with the white crescent moon and five white stars of the State Flag of Singapore emblazoned in the centre. The Standard was approved and adopted for use from 1 Jan 1961.
