378 pgs – contents cover the period Jul 1974 –Nov 1978, on the organisation and proposed activities of the National Heart Week (NHW) for the years 1974-1978. The anchor activity was the week-long exhibition. NHW was organised by the Singapore National Heart Association (SNHA) with the support of Ministry of Health (MOH) and various sponsors. Ministry of Culture (MC) and RTS were roped in to assist in publicising the events (for media coverage, poster displays, film shows at community centres; and radio/TV programmes); other activities included write-ups/stories in various publications eg HDB’s Our Home magazine; and pamphlets.
Apart from the opening ceremony, the main activity and anchor event for each NHW was a week-long exhibition, except for the 1975 NHW, which was a low key event. SNHA was solely responsible for organising the NHW eg liaising with various agencies on the exhibition and sponsors for cash and kind (eg cash from Lee Foundation, T-shirts by Sin Chew Jit Poh, Milo and biscuits for participants). Other activities included mass participation events (for 1974 and 1976 NHWs), talks on radio/TV and forum for medical personnel.

The 1974 NHW opening ceremony involved mass participation by the public. Themed, “Exercise the Heart”, the event was held at the National Stadium (NS), the ending point, for the gathering of 3k-4k participants from a combined mass jog, walk and cycling event. The participants had started off earlier from nine points throughout the island. The exhibition was also held at the NS during the NHW, 29 Sep – 5 Oct 1974.
The 1976 NHW, was held from 21-29 Aug 1976 to coincide with Pesta Sukan activities. Singapore Sports Council (SSC) co-sponsored the opening event and a Big Walk on 29 Aug, for 20k-25k walkers. In keeping with the sponsorship of SCC the theme was “Fitness”. The first set of National Fitness Award Tests was also held at the NS. The week-long exhibition was for the first time held at Orchard Road at Plaza Singapore, with DBS waiving the fees for the use of the venue
Themed “Heart Attack”, the 1977 NHW was held from 5-13 Nov 1977, and the exhibition was held at the Singapore Conference Hall.
The 1978 NHW was held from 18-26 Nov 1978, the focus was hypertension and the theme was, “"Down with High Blood Pressure”. The week-long exhibition was held at Lucky Plaza.
