NATIONAL LOYALTY WEEK CELEBRATIONS
Contents largely on preparation of an exhibition, “People’s Government At Work” Exhibition, 3–9 Dec 1959, to be staged in celebration of National Loyalty Week (NLW).
Spearheaded by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Culture (MC) assisted in the preparations for the display, financing and coordination with the ministries and statutory boards on their displays eg port and harbour. The Exhibition was but one of the activities, organised to celebrate NLW and the installation of the first Malayan Head of State (ie Yang di-Pertaun Negara), on 3 Dec1959. Other activities mentioned in the file included a March Past, a floats procession, variety show (organised by the Minister/Culture also provided a schedule of activities for Prime Minister, Dy Prime Minister and all the other ministers to participate during the NLW.
