This file contains the Singapore Improvement Trust's: (i) revenue, expenditure and loan estimates for FY1957 (ii) financial accounts for FY1956, (iii) segregation of the FY1956 financial accounts into Housing and Improvement, (iv) supplemental budget for FY1957, and (v) budget estimates for FY1958. In Treasury comments to the FY1958 estimates, it was noted that the new housing subsidy policy was not intended to be applied until the new housing authority (presumably HDB) was established and a proper Housing Account was kept. SIT would continue to use the Improvement Fund to meet deficits arising from the rental policy of the Government.
