Bersatu Padu
This file concerned a massive 5-Nations combined military exercise held in Malaysia between April and June of 1970.  Nicknamed 'Bersatu Padu' meaning 'Complete Unity' in Malay, it was designed to train and exercise the combined forces of Australia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore and the United Kingdom, under the conditions that would prevail after the United Kingdom's military base withdrawal from Singapore.  In short, to practise the set up of an organisation that could introduce, support and train forces from outside the area.
Other filed infor included press releases of the event, notes of meeting with Sir Alex Douglas-Home, Conservative Party spokesman, on Britain's positioning in view of their withdrawal of troops in the Far East and a visit report by 12 journalists from SEAsia to Britain and Kota Tinggi (Mar/Apr 1970).
