Computer Recovery Centre Facilities (Closed)
(417 pages) The file contains steps taken by CSD from January 1990 with Computer Engineering Systems (CES) to set up the Computer Recovery Services (CRS) as part of CSD's contingency planning programme. CSD will keep NCB informed of costs involved and CES will be able to respond quickly on requests or information from NCB and other Ministries. A CSCP-wide deal with CES would also be more cost effective. Accordingly, an agreement with CES for the provision of CRS was reached and disaster recovery planning tests were held for selected 12 Ministries and departments in June 1992.  The Auditor-General's Office participated as an observer. The tests were successful and areas requiring enhancements would be incorporated into the plan. After the tests, guidelines for disaster recovery initiation and a guide for authorising officers were prepared. Further DRP testing was conducted in August and December 1992.  Like in 1991, a year-end DRP review for 1992 was conducted.
