Satellite Earth Station Laying Of Foundation Stone & Opening Ceremony
Contains records relating to:
i) photographs which were taken of the opening ceremony of the Sentosa satellite earth station on 23 October 1971;
ii) Communications Satellite Corporation (COMSAT)'s request for Telecoms Department to provide the most complete data regarding the Sentosa satellite system and pictures for updating its publication titled "The World's Earth Stations for Satellite Communications";
iii) Telecoms Department's request for Department of Broadcasting to assign a TV camera-man to cover the construction of the Sentosa 2nd antenna project as they did for the 1st antenna;
iv) a proposal to a Public Relations officer of TAS to release the completion of Phase I Sentosa 2nd Antenna project as "news reel" and the draft script for the news reel; and
v) preparation for a opening ceremony plaque which was proposed to be mounted on the 2nd antenna foundation wall.
