296 Pages of Policy issues relating to the Adult Education Board, such as minutes of meetings, recruitment of staff (including salary scales), intake of students, courses, statement of accounts etc.  Mrs. Wong Lee Siok Tin was a Board member of the Adult Education Board and hence these files were kept in the Broadcasting Department.
The Adult Education Board (AEB) or Lembaga Gerakan Pelajaran Dewasa was established in 1960 to promote adult education  in Singapore. It provided courses on language and literacy, general education, vocational, technical, recreational and general classes and courses. AEB later combined with ITB ( Industrial Training Board) in 1979 to form VITB ( Vocational and Training Board), the predecessor of ITE  (Institute of Technical Education) in 1992. ITE was formed to improve the employability of vocational students and to restructure VITB's programes.
