Song, Gramophone Records and Tapes Policy
The gramophone record of the original Broadway Musical "Hair" cast recording of 26 songs was detained on the decision of the Advisory Committee on Publications on 22 August 1969. The detention was on the grounds that "Hippy type of music should not be encouraged in Singapore". Examination of records may be made separately on the lyric, music and record jacket. The same criteria of censoring publications may apply on the examination of lyric and record jacket. If these are found to be objectionable either on moral, political or religious point of view, the record may either be detained or banned.
