The Land Office was formerly a department of the Ministry of Local Government, Lands and Housing from the 1950s to the 1960s.
The Land Office of the Ministry of Law is responsible for the administration of state land in Singapore. Its main functions include the alienation of state land to both the public and the private sectors for development; the compulsory acquisition of management and control of state land and the collection of land revenue.
