The Singapore Sport Council (SSC) was established on 1 October 1973 following the merger of the National Sports Promotion Board and the National Stadium Corporation. SSC aimed to promote sports to the masses as well as nurture and develop sports talents On 1 April 2014, SSC was renamed Sport Singapore.
