Singapore Polytechnic (SP) is Singapore's first Polytechnic. It was established in 27 October 1954, after the Legislative Council passed the Singapore Ordinance. The first campus for SP was in Prince Edward Road, which was officially opened by Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, on 24 February 1959. On 12 April 1975, SP moved to its new campus in Dover Road.
