Dear Editors and Media Friends,

1. Earlier this evening, the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Singapore, His Excellency Dr Mohamed Omar Abdulla Balfaqeeh, representing the Dubai Charity Association sponsored an iftar (breaking of fast) session and shared the blessings of Ramadan with needy families from the South Mosque Cluster as well as congregants of Masjid Yusof Ishak.


2. 50 families from the South Mosque Cluster representing zakat recipients from Masjid Al-Amin and Masjid Mujahidin received NTUC FairPrice vouchers and a box of dates accompanied with a copy of the Holy Qur’an each from the Association. 


3. Speaking to the media, Executive Director of the Rahmatan Lil Alamin Foundation (RLAF), Mr Zainul Abidin Ibrahim shared that this is one of many initiatives supported by the RLAF to expand its network with other institutions that share a like-minded cause of touching the hearts and enriching the lives of challenged and unprivileged communities.


4. One of the recipients, Mdm Sakhimah Yahya, 56, expressed her gratitude and appreciation to the Dubai Charity Association for their contribution. She shared that the NTUC FairPrice vouchers will help to lessen her household expenses.  


5. Present at the ceremony were Chief Executive of Muis, Haji Abdul Razak Hassan Maricar, diplomats from the UAE Embassy, RLAF Board of Trustees, Management Board members of Masjid Yusof Ishak as well as representatives from the South Mosque Cluster and North Mosque Cluster.


6. Following the vouchers disbursement ceremony, HE Dr Mohamed Omar Abdulla Balfaqeeh viewed the pictorial exhibition of the late President Yusof Ishak as well as the picture gallery that chronicles the Rahmatan Lil Alamin movement and its projects.
